Australian Government further limit fishing charters

Posted on June 16 2012 by admin

In case you haven't heard, the Australian Federal Government has proposed to increase Australia's marine zones to 3 times what they are today. This will have a massive impact on recreational fishing and the Australian fishing charter community.

On the Smarter Fishing Charters Facebook page, we have posed the following question:

Do you agree with the Australian Federal Government's proposal to create the world's largest network of marine reserves? This would further limit fishing, oil and gas exploration, and increase the number of protected zones from 27 to 60 covering more than 3 million square kilometres. That is around one-third of Australia's waters.

To let us know what you think, take a minute to answer the question, "Do you agree with the Australian Federal Government's proposal to create the world's largest network of marine reserves?"
